Battlefield: Bad Company 2 server
servers
First, if you didn't know, we now have BC2 server. The details can be found on the Website Home, as always.
The server is still a bit unstable and tends to crash every so often. I submitted a few support tickets about this, and as it turns out, this is a common problem affecting pretty much every server. According to GameServers (our gaming server host), they have reported the problems to EA/DICE along with logs. At this point, we're just going to have to wait until EA/DICE release an update.
Tell them to give us a discount.
By the way everyone, since apparently you can't find servers by IP in BC2 (unless I missed it somewhere), it might be helpful to know that our server is named Christian [KC]. Sorting the server list by name should help you find it pretty quickly.
Update: our servers have been renamed with [KC] in front. Searching for [KC] should let you find both of our servers.
In case you haven't tried it the servers are back up again just fyi. The garand still isn't working in game for most people though so they still have some stuff to work on.
How do we change the banner at the top so it include the BC2 servers?
Huh? It is set up to include the BC2 servers already.
OK, I was looking at the home page where it is working fine. I cannot see the BC2 servers for the forums.
Nice kick and I guess ban for leaving landmines at the exit of an UNCAP. Being a Christian gaming community I thought you would have a bit more since.
Not very Christian like at all.
ps ingame name NastyChingHo
Been spammin the rule the whole time.
Was just a round ban since u came back in and did it. Respect the rules and you'll be fine.
It sounds like you were just outside the uncap. That's no better.
Hmm, I don't even know what an uncap is...I guess you can tell I haven't played anything except Squad DM yet.
Uncap is short for 'uncapturable'. Meaning its a place on the map that has people but isn't an objective, aka a spawn. You end up with people spawn camping and eventually everyone just gets stuck at spawn, pissed off, or both.
So you can't just admit you were wrong.
EA has a policy about these type of rules. I would be careful what rules you enforce or EA may have some of there own consequences.
EA doesn't care who we kick if we pay for a server so if you think you're going to scare us then it's not working. You could just let this go and move on since it's not a permanent ban.
We're quite capable of reading and complying with the EA policies on our own. EA's guidelines give leeway to server administrators in creating and enforcing such rules in order to prevent the stat-padding that can result from such behavior. Regardless, I'm not going to bother debating this with you.
You're welcome to play on our servers so long as you follow
the rules, which are pretty lenient and tend to be weighted in the attacker's favor, quite frankly. If you can't deal with that, we wish you the best and hope you find another server that will accommodate you.
Q: I can't plant explosives in the uncap, but can I plant them outside of the exit of the uncap?
A: Yes; no; it depends. If there is only one road exit from the uncap, then that road exit will be considered a part of the uncap and is off limits for explosives. If they have not begun to engage your units, vehicles must have a reasonable chance to exit the uncap and enter the battlefield proper. Once they get there, (or if they start to engage your units,) have at them. Nobody is asking you to allow them to make it to a flag.
On the desert map there is three road exits.
You guys just don't even go by your own rules. Sorry to beat a dead horse.
That was added after your original post precisely to deal with situations of this sort, so that our admins can apply a consistent standard. As always, final interpretation and enforcement of the rules remain at the discretion of the admin on the server at the time.
We don't like having to impose rules, as the time spent writing and enforcing them takes away from our own time enjoying the game, but necessity compels it at times. You have managed to get your own special clarification in our rules section. Congratulations. It's time to drop it and move on.
